Consultation

The A6 to Manchester Airport Relief Road is a proposed new road (PDF 4.37Mb), connecting the A6 at Hazel Grove to Manchester Airport via the existing A555.

The road scheme is being consulted on in two phases.

Stockport, Manchester City and Cheshire East Councils are committed to ensuring that anyone with an interest in the A6 to Manchester Airport Relief Road has an opportunity to comment on the proposals.

The first phase of consultation, which is now closed, ran between 22nd October 2012 and 25th January 2013 and asked for views on a number of junction options to help determine a preferred scheme.

For further information on the Phase One Consultation report and the Phase One Consultation for the A6 to Manchester Airport Relief Road visit the Phase One Consultation web pages.

We are now in the second phase of consultation for the A6 to Manchester Airport Relief Road scheme and this will run until 19th July 2013.

The purpose of this phase of consultation is to provide feedback from the Phase 1 consultation, which took place between 22nd October 2012 and 25th January 2013, and seek comments on the emerging preferred scheme.

Subject to planning approval, construction of the road is expected to take place between 2014 and 2017. We will ensure that the local community is kept fully up to date with the development of the scheme as it progresses.
